The Geminorum Cluster

Adventure 1

The shedders be loose!

84-403 SC

As our humble little spaceship, the Hunter-Gratzner, made its way towards the Yasin precinct, we were rudely attacked by some pirates. The pirates, in their foolishness, decided to try and intimidate our crew and steal the cargo we were toting. With the gusto our ship is known for, we said, “If you surrender now, we’ll only rape the pretty ones and leave the ugly ones alive. Otherwise, we’ll rape ’em all and kill the non-pretties.”

For some reason, the fleet staffed almost exclusively by Pexursine took offense and initiated combat. Our eager captain ran to the gunnery, to man the ship’s beams himself, giving control over the Chief Engineer. Our crafty pilot maneuvered our ship so that the narrow side faced our enemies, thereby limiting the surface area for critical strikes. The Security Officer manned an attack shuttle, prepping a boarding team to capture the engine room of the leader’s ship. Right before the first barrage of beams or missiles were loosed, the Chief Engineer prepped the thrusters with sufficient power to twist the ship and roll out of harm’s way a time or two.

As far as the layout was concerned, two Pexursine ships had decided to spread out for barraging our ship with torpedoes, one of which forgot they didn’t have working ammunition, beside their beam weapons. Johnny, our technical expert initiated the combat, with his skills in Electronic Warfare, making the maneuverability of the primary opponent, the Spear Maiden, minimal. As one of the distant ships loosed its torpedoes, our two closer ships began a grittier combat. The Spear Maiden fired its beams, but our pilot had already prepared for this, with his having turned the ship on end. As such, most of the damage was avoided. The captain fired his beams along the broadside of the lead ship, further crippling its engines.

Shortly after the first barrage of attacks, the Security Officer launched the shuttle to capture our prize, the Spear Maiden (Maybe after this combat it’ll be the Bloody Mary). After he dodged some inbound beam attacks, he mounted the shuttle to the hull of the Spear Maiden, and created a large hole in the hull plating. After breach was created, our Security Officer moved quickly to the Engineering Bay. Upon reaching this area, he quickly subdued what little guard they had and took control of its engines.

As we continued our movement through space, cooling our beams, repairing the slight damage to the frame, we left the Security Officer to deal with the Spear Maiden and began to approach one of the ships more distant to us. Hopefully, we’ll be able to sate the Captain’s desire of charring a ship. Knowing our past habits will come into play once again, I wish those upon the Intrepid and the Explorer a quick, painless death.

My change was just to correct the name of the Comms officer from Jones to Johnny.

I think Jones is the name of Pinky’s character.

That’s cool, I was kind of rushed, so I just went with my somewhat faulty memory. Damn classes, getting in the way of my editing a wiki.
